Our Teas
High in the mountains of Lincang, Yunnan, grow some of the oldest tea trees in the world. The oldest being 3200 years old. Most of these trees are few hundred, up to 1000 years old and produce leaves that carry a unique depth of flavour and an energy that has been treasured for centuries.
🌱 What Makes Ancient Tree Tea Special?
Unlike plantation teas grown on younger bushes, ancient tree tea comes from deep-rooted, wild, or semi-wild tea trees that draw nutrients from untouched mountain soils free from pesticides and other chemicals. Their leaves are thicker, more complex, and naturally resilient, resulting in teas that are rich, balanced, and layered in taste.
-
White Ancient Tree Tea — delicate, floral, and soothing, with a natural sweetness that lingers on the palate.
-
Black Ancient Tree Tea — robust, warming, and grounding, with notes of honey, dried fruit, and wood.
Both teas are perfect for tea meditation, helping you pause, breathe, and centre yourself with each infusion.

🏔️ Why Lincang?
Lincang, in southwest Yunnan, sits along the ancient Tea Horse Road, a trade route where tea was once carried across Asia. The region’s altitude (approx. 2500m above sea level), rich soils, and biodiverse forests create the ideal terroir for producing some of the most sought-after teas in the world.
Tea from Lincang carries not just flavour, but also heritage — connecting today’s drinkers to a living history of cultivation, culture, and ritual.
At Chado, we are proud to share this treasure with you, bringing Yunnan’s mountains and ancient tea wisdom into your home.
